Location: Bulli Hospital, New South Wales

Project Date: June 2021

Objective: Create and install a safer access point to the air conditioning unit at Bulli Hospital, as the existing access was dangerous and required persons to go through the native gardens.

Challenges:

  1. Environment to access the air conditioning was surrounded by sensitive native flora which needed to be protected.
  2. Uneven surface increased risk for slips, trips and falls.
  3. Service Technicians had previously struggled to access.

Solution We Created:

We built a raised path and bridge from FRP Grating and Structural Members. Ultimately, we provided a final product which is non-corrosive, low maintenance, safe, aesthetic, smooth and provides access with minimised risks.

To achieve the need of works to be able to coordinate with Boral approved construction contractors, we ensured each platform was constructed within our Wollongong workshop, where we matched and marked all of our components and created an installation manual for assembly included with each platform. All four platforms were delivered with Grating FRP Australia personnel, ensuring each location still received our assistance in the construction of their platform arrangement.
